Why BUCHAREST?
European Visiting Programme (EVP) is one of the first EDSA programmes. It draws dental students from all around Europe who are looking for an exciting and educational international experience. It gives them the opportunity to visit other dental faculties in foreign countries for a couple of days or weeks with an educational purpose.
Bucharest, known as „Le Petit Paris”, is an emerging cultural and economic centre of 21st century Eastern Europe. Enjoy pleasing mismatch of architecture, full of romantic vibes and a nightlife extravaganza! Be ready for an absolutely memorable experience!
Paris of the east
Bucharest is the capital and largest city in Romania, as well as being a cultural, industrial and financial centre. It is located in the southeast of the country. In the early 20th century, Bucharest came to be known as the “Paris of the east” thanks to its Art Nouveau architecture and grand municipal buildings, often French-designed. This faded grandeur is now mixed with administrative buildings left behind from decades of communist rule such as the Palace of the Parliament, the 2nd largest building in the world (365,000 square metres). Our University
”Carol Davila” University of Medicine and Pharmacy is a public health sciences University in Bucharest, Romania. It is one of the largest and oldest institutions of its kind in Romania. The University is using the facilities of over 20 clinical hospitals all over Bucharest. Carol Davila University is classified as an advanced research and education university by the Ministry of Education. Created as part of the University of Bucharest in 1857, the institution is considered as one of the most prestigious of its kind in Romania and all over the world.
Miles of parks
Bucharest is swathed in beautiful parks. The oldest, designed in the mid-19th century, is Cismigiu Gardens. There is also the 400-acre Herastrau Park, which features an open-air theater, as well as public recreation areas (www.edition.cnn.com). It is also packed with outdoor cafes, rooftop bars and drinking gardens suitable for the city’s hipster vibes.
Rich nightlife
Bucharest is one of the indisputable party capitals of Eastern Europe. Its historic core, the Old City, has gotten a much needed makeover and, these days, is anything but „old”. What was once the stomping ground of the Princely Court in the 15th century has been transformed into the go-to district for bars, clubs, and cafés.
